Technical Project Manager
1 year contract-Only W2
2 days hybrid -Detroit, Michigan
Communication needs to be excellent.
I need a deeply technical GCP‑focused PM who can take day‑to‑day ownership of delivery, supported by a tester who can build the testing strategy and quality controls the program currently lacks.
Technical Project Manager (Primary Need)
The manager emphasized the team is struggling without a capable tech PM. The current PM is not technical (more of a BI profile) and is not a fit.
Key responsibilities:
Run sprint planning, daily standups, demos, and drive delivery
Build structure in an unstructured environment (no functional specs, empty JIRA, mostly tribal knowledge)
Define deliverables and challenge engineering decisions (“Why are we doing this? What does it unlock?”)
Manage engineers, raise risks early, and keep work moving
Help establish a new operating model for the team
Support API integration use cases, orchestration layer, vector embeddings, and federated environments
Work across semi‑structured and unstructured data moving into standalone environments
Product‑minded approach, not just data‑layer thinking
Technical familiarity needed:
GCP, Tecton, GitHub Actions, Python scripting, agent development kit, sector embeddings, and basic Git scaffolding.
What she does NOT want:
No BI profiles
No pure architects
