Serapi Rug Gallery is a luxury handmade rug gallery located in the heart of Los Gatos, specializing in fine handmade, antique, transitional, tribal, and contemporary rugs from around the world. We also provide expert rug cleaning, restoration, repair, and white-glove pickup and delivery services for our clientele throughout Silicon Valley and the South Bay.

We are currently seeking a mature, personable, and motivated individual to join our showroom team with the goal of becoming a long-term key member of our business.

This is not a typical retail position.

We are looking for someone who appreciates craftsmanship, enjoys working in a beautiful showroom environment, and understands how to build genuine relationships with clients. The ideal candidate has previous sales experience, strong communication skills, and takes pride in providing a high-end customer experience.

We are seeking someone interested in building a long-term career with us and gradually taking on increased responsibility within the business.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist clients in our luxury showroom
• Guide customers through rug selections and educate them on styles, materials, and craftsmanship
• Build long-term customer relationships through excellent service and follow-up
• Assist with showroom presentation and organization
• Help display and move rugs during customer appointments
• Coordinate customer drop-offs and pickups for rug cleaning and repair services
• Assist with scheduling local pickup and delivery services
• Support day-to-day gallery operations
• Manage inventory and work with the POS system to update incoming new arrivals

Qualifications

• Previous sales or client-facing experience required
• Luxury retail, showroom sales, interior design, furniture, art gallery, or consultative sales experience is a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Reliable, organized, and self-motivated
• Ability to perform light-to-moderate physical work, including lifting and moving rugs with assistance when needed
• Must live within a reasonable commuting distance to Los Gatos
• Long-term mindset and desire to grow with a family-owned business

Compensation

• Approximately $22/hour base compensation
• Plus commission on sales
• Full-time schedule averaging approximately 40 hours per week including some weekends

Expected total compensation typically ranges between approximately $5,000–$10,000+ per month depending on sales performance and experience.
