We're looking for a seasoned operational mind who can translate ambiguity into executable action, synthesize complex requirements under pressure, and bring disciplined thinking to some of the most consequential planning efforts in the federal space.THE MISSIONAs MARFORPAC G-35 Future Operations Planner Fires and Effects, you're the strategic architect behind theater-level fires coordination across the Indo-Pacific. You'll serve as senior advisor to Marine Forces Pacific leadership, ensuring our forces can deliver precise, coordinated effects when crisis demands action. This role puts you at the center of joint operations planning, working directly with USINDOPACOM, PACFLT, and Theater Joint Force Maritime Component Command to build the operational framework that keeps America's Pacific interests secure.WHAT YOU'LL DOApply expert knowledge of US Fires and Effects Security Agreements, policies, and strategies from USINDOPACOM, HQMC, and PACFLTIntegrate joint warfighting concepts and command relationships into operational planning and strategic assessmentExecute joint and Marine Corps planning processes for operational plans, contingency plans, and strategic initiativesBuild compelling visual and written briefings using Microsoft Office and military planning softwareIdentify and solve complex fires and effects problems, presenting actionable solutions to senior decision makersParticipate in operational planning teams, working groups, boards, and integrated planning conferencesAttend daily command briefs and contribute to critical decision cyclesSupport synchronization meetings and working groups across MARFORPAC, PACFLT, USINDOPACOM, and joint service componentsContribute to campaign-level assessments and joint validation boards for all-domain planning effortsWrite operational orders, warning orders, execution orders, after-action reports, and strategic meeting minutesSchedule and deliver planning conferences, exercises, and wargaming eventsSupport modernization assessments and autonomous systems integration for next-generation warfare capabilitiesWHAT YOU BRINGBachelor's degree in Military Studies, International Relations, National Security, Strategic Studies, Operations Management, Public Administration, Emergency Management, or related field5+ years of experience in operations planning, military planning, readiness planning, contingency planning, or strategic analysisProven track record supporting operational planning cycles, mission readiness activities, or force employment planningWorking knowledge of military planning processes, joint planning concepts, and operational-level decision supportExperience coordinating across diverse stakeholders and translating strategic objectives into executable operational plansStrong analytical writing, briefing, and communication skills with senior military leadershipAbility to manage multiple complex planning efforts in high-tempo, dynamic operational environmentsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in Strategic Studies, Defense Analysis, Security Studies, Business Administration, Public Policy, or Operations ResearchAdvanced Operational Planning Schools: JAWS, SAMS, MAWS, JCWS, JPMESenior Professional Military Education: CGSC, ILE, USMC CSC, MAGTF, NCSC, War CollegeProfessional certifications: PMP, CMPPrior military MOS experience: USMC 0302, 0502, 0511Background working with USINDOPACOM, MARFORPAC, HQMC, combatant command staff, Service component staff, or MEF headquartersWHY K2K2 is where mission-critical work meets world-class teams.
