Warehouse Supervisor Shift DAY SHIFT

Location: Columbus, OH

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5:30am to 3pm

Position Summary

The Receiving Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading day shift inbound operations in a high-volume pick/pack distribution environment. This role ensures all incoming merchandise is received, processed, stocked, and accounted for accurately, safely, and efficiently while maintaining productivity and team engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Performance

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 10–15 warehouse associates
  • Monitor daily productivity, accuracy, and attendance; address performance as needed
  • Lead pre-shift communication meetings to align team on goals and priorities
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety

Inbound & Inventory Management

  • Oversee receiving, inspection, and stocking of inbound freight from manufacturers
  • Ensure all inbound shipments are processed accurately and stocked in a timely manner
  • Verify discrepancies and communicate issues to Purchasing
  • Ensure all inbound documentation is completed and submitted properly
  • Maintain inventory integrity through daily SKU counts and proper location management
  • Adjust slotting, shelf space, and zone configurations as needed

Returns & Processing

  • Manage all returns (manufacturer and customer), ensuring they are processed, reported, and restocked daily
  • Ensure non-freight deliveries (e.g., small parcel/UPS) are received and verified daily

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain productivity standards and report daily/weekly metrics
  • Ensure all overstock is worked down appropriately
  • Ensure labeling, shelf notifications, and SKU changes are accurate and current

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials
  • Maintain warehouse safety standards, including clear emergency exits and inspection points
  • Ensure housekeeping and cleaning schedules are completed and audited daily

Facility & General Oversight

  • Inspect designated areas (including furniture/storage zones) after stocking completion
  • Support cross-functional operations and assist in other areas as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams of 10+ employees
  • High level of accountability, reliability, and attendance
  • Ability to document and communicate clearly with employees and leadership
  • Flexible and adaptable to operational needs

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in warehouse, distribution, or inventory management
  • Experience in high-SKU, pick/pack distribution environments strongly preferred
