Role Description

The FS8 Pilates Head Trainer will be responsible for leading group exercise classes, delivering high-quality Pilates instruction, and ensuring an exceptional member experience. Responsibilities include guiding members through safe, effective workouts, fostering community engagement, and maintaining a consistent and professional studio environment. Additional duties may involve assisting with program development, supporting members in achieving their fitness goals, and upholding operational standards. This is a part-time, on-site position located in Burlingame, CA.

Role Overview

The FS8 Head Trainer is responsible for leading the studio’s coaching team while delivering exceptional Pilates and functional training sessions. This role combines coaching excellence, instructor development, community engagement, and studio support to ensure the highest level of member experience. The Head Trainer sets the standard for coaching quality, trainer performance, and studio culture while helping grow the studio through events, outreach, and strong brand presence. This role also includes coaching a set number of weekly classes as determined by the executive leadership team, ensuring the Head Trainer remains actively engaged with members and leading by example on the studio floor.


Key Responsibilities

Coaching Excellence & Member Experience

  • Deliver pre-programmed FS8 workouts with confidence, precision, and high energy
  • Provide real-time coaching, movement corrections, and exercise modifications
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and class quality
  • Support members of all fitness levels and ensure a motivating class environment
  • Coach a set number of weekly classes as determined by the executive team
  • Lead by example in delivering the FS8 member experience

Trainer Leadership, Evaluation & Onboarding

  • Lead, mentor, and support the studio coaching team
  • Evaluate instructor performance and provide feedback to maintain coaching standards
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new instructors
  • Conduct trainer shadowing, onboarding sessions, and ongoing development
  • Ensure consistent delivery of the FS8 training methodology across all classes

Marketing & Social Media Support

  • Identify and participate in local events, partnerships, and community outreach opportunities
  • Represent FS8 at community activations and networking events
  • Help build relationships with local businesses, influencers, and wellness partners
  • Support initiatives that help grow the studio membership and brand presence
  • Assist with social media content creation, including class clips, trainer features, and studio highlights
  • Help capture engaging in-studio content for marketing campaigns

Studio Operations Support

  • Assist with member check-ins and class management when needed
  • Maintain equipment organization and studio presentation standards
  • Support inventory management and supply tracking
  • Coordinate with studio leadership to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Maintain studio cleanliness and presentation standards, and general studio upkeep


Qualifications

  • Accredited Reformer Pilates Certification
  • Previous pilates studio experience
  • Current CPR/AED Certification
  • Strong coaching presence and communication skills
  • Leadership ability with experience mentoring or supporting other instructors
  • Passion for movement, wellness, and community building
