Role: Cloudflare Developer
Location: Atlanta GA- Hybrid
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloudflare Frontend Developer to lead the design and development of secure, scalable, and high‑performance frontend applications at the edge. This role requires deep expertise in modern frontend technologies combined with advanced hands‑on experience using Cloudflare’s edge, security, and performance services. The candidate will play a key role in frontend architecture, technical decision‑making, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of large‑scale frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred).
- Architect and implement edge‑based frontend solutions leveraging Cloudflare Workers, Pages, CDN, caching, and security services.
- Drive frontend performance optimization using edge caching strategies, routing rules, and distributed computing patterns.
- Partner with backend, security, and DevOps teams to define end‑to‑end architecture and deployment strategies.
- Implement and enforce frontend security best practices, including secure authentication flows, rate limiting, and protection against XSS, CSRF, and DDoS attacks.
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews, design reviews, and mentoring of junior and mid‑level developers.
- Troubleshoot complex frontend and edge‑related issues using Cloudflare analytics, logs, and observability tools.
- Contribute to roadmap planning, estimation, and continuous improvement of development standards and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Frontend Development, with at least 3+ years in a senior or lead role.
- Expert‑level proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Cloudflare, including:
- Cloudflare Workers and edge functions
- Cloudflare Pages for frontend hosting
- CDN configuration, caching strategies, and performance tuning
- Cloudflare security features (WAF, rate limiting, bot management basics)
- Advanced experience with React and component‑driven architecture.
- Strong understanding of frontend performance, browser internals, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing or migrating applications to edge‑first or serverless architectures.
- Strong working knowledge of TypeScript.
- Experience with modern tooling (Vite, Webpack, Rollup, ESLint).
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and logging for frontend and edge workloads.
- Prior experience in regulated or high‑availability production environments.
