Foundry Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Overview
We are seeking a Foundry Production Supervisor to lead 2nd shift operations within a fast-paced, heavy manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production activities across multiple foundry departments, including molding, core, melt, and finishing.
This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone with strong foundry or metal casting experience who thrives on the production floor and enjoys driving team performance, safety, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise hourly production employees across assigned foundry operations
- Execute daily production schedules to meet output and delivery targets
- Monitor workflow, productivity, and quality across departments
- Ensure adherence to all safety standards and promote a strong safety culture
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and operations teams to resolve issues quickly
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Track and report on production metrics, performance, and downtime
- Train, coach, and develop employees to improve performance and engagement
- Address employee concerns, resolve issues, and maintain a positive team environment
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in a foundry, metal casting, or heavy industrial manufacturing environment
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience in production
- Knowledge of foundry processes (melt, molding, core room, finishing, etc.)
- Ability to manage teams, prioritize work, and meet production goals
- Comfortable working in a high-heat, industrial environment
Preferred:
- Experience with production planning and scheduling
- Continuous improvement or cost reduction experience
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems or ERP software
- Technical training or associate’s degree (or equivalent experience)
Work Environment
- Industrial foundry setting with exposure to heat, noise, and moving equipment
- Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to ~25 lbs)
- PPE required at all times
