About QuickSecure
When something goes wrong in a school, the people running toward the building often know less than the parents in the parking lot. Police arriving with outdated floor plans. Paramedics looking for room numbers over scratchy radios. Teachers locked in classrooms with no idea who’s coming, or when.
The day-to-day isn’t much better. Anonymous tips dropped in paper boxes. Lockdown drills tracked on clipboards. Emergency alerts sent by group text and intercom. The tools schools use to keep millions of children safe haven’t changed in twenty years.
Come help us fix that. We arm first responders with the information they need in the moments that matter most, and give schools the tools to prevent those moments in the first place.
We’re building the operating system for modern school safety: emergency response, AI threat detection, anonymous tip lines, mass communication, and the hardware that ties it all together.
We're live with customers across the country, growing fast and looking for people who want to be part of what comes next.
About the role
This is our first new grad role. By week one, you’ll have code running live in our schools. By month one, you’ll have sat across from a principal or SRO and learned what they actually need. By quarter one, you own real parts of the platform. You’re working alongside the founders and the engineering team, all of whom care deeply about helping you grow.
What you’ll do
• Ship features across our platforms: frontend, backend, mobile, and edge computing systems
• Work on real customer problems from start to finish
Our tech stack
TypeScript and JavaScript end-to-end (Node/Express + React) with React Native and Swift on mobile, Postgres for data, all hosted on AWS. We use Anthropic, Gemini, and in-house vision models. You’ll be working with all of it.
Who you are
• Graduating in 2025 or 2026 with a degree in computer science.
• Strong understanding and an instinct for reliability. The systems we build run during the worst moments of a school year, and they have to work the first time.
• A tinkerer. Someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty and learn what they don’t already know.
• Comfortable with the weight of the domain. We build for K-12 schools, which means our bugs can have real consequences. Some people love that, some don’t. Make sure you do.
• You build because you want to. Hackathons, side projects, open source, that one class assignment you couldn’t stop iterating on, or an internship you keep thinking about. Send us your favorite.
• Office over remote, every time. We’re in Chinatown five days a week and that’s where you’ll grow fastest.
First 90 days
You’ll learn the product inside and out, help us with customer deployments in August, work alongside our engineering team and founders to strengthen the current product, and start owning and shipping new features.
Why this role
• Start shipping from day one, no 90 day learning period
• Work on some of the hardest problems out there, and ones that are tangible.
• Touch both software and hardware in the same week
• Be part of a well-funded startup ready to scale
Compensation and benefits
• $100,000–$120,000 base, based on experience, plus meaningful equity in an early stage startup
• Work on the hardest problems with the most rewarding solutions
• Take unlimited PTO as needed
• Beautiful office in the heart of Chinatown
