The Manager of Foundation Events and Engagement oversees Event and Engagement operations for the Development Department and the CSM Foundation. This position serves as the liaison to the CSM Foundation Board of Directors and is the first point of contact for the department. This position is responsible for supporting department goals and, under department direction, planning and managing events that support annual fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship initiatives. This position is accountable for student and employee engagement and supports donor and alumni engagement. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will secure financial and in-kind sponsorships in all three counties, grow the volunteer base, and help strengthen the culture of philanthropy for the CSM community.

The hiring salary for this position will be from the min to mid-point of the salary range advertised.This position is open until filled.
35% - Department Coordination and Board Engagement
Department Coordination
  • Manages administrative, planning, and logistical functions for all department events including fundraisers, board meetings, and specialty receptions for alumni, donors and prospects.
  • Serves as a user of Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge (donor database), and integrated portals such as Double the Donation and Donor Search, and generates reports and queries, and enters constituent data as directed.
  • Creates, edits and produces Foundation event deliverables and signage for all Foundation activities.
  • Supports the department with coordination of mail services, department filing system, and procurement of department related resources.
  • Coordinates activities with the President’s Office as needed.
  • Supports the Foundation staff as needed for the Scholarship cycle.

Board Engagement (CSM Foundation Board of Directors, (Avg 20/25 board members, four standing committees).
  • Leads execution of all board and committee meetings, managing all event- related elements and production of meetings and retreats.
  • Leads outreach and engagement of board for internal and external event attendance
  • Advises Foundation Executive Director on the master monthly calendar and collaborate on developing agendas and pre- and post- materials for Board and committee meetings.
  • Serves as staff liaison for Board committees, and manages repository of records and minutes of all meetings, onboarding, policies, by-laws, and annual Board renewal documents
  • Assist Foundation Directors with Board Member prospect research under the supervision of the Executive Director.

50% Event Planning
  • Lead all fundraising or friendraising events based on the goals and vision set by Foundation directors.
  • Leads all logistics, registration, vendor relations, run of show, and marketing deliverables for event planning and execution.
  • Carries out vision and goals with donor-centered focus; keeps staff apprised of barriers and solutions.
  • Collaborate with Foundation staff and Marketing teams to execute donor cultivation and stewardship activities, such as communicating and managing marketing and public relations needs for campaigns, programs, events, and donor and alumni recognition.
  • Collaborate with Foundation staff, CSM leadership, Faculty, and Staff to support College events to include registration, attendee tracking, event support, and pre- and post-event evaluations as needed.
  • Collaborate with student program areas for ambassador volunteering, production of student thank you letters, and volunteer assignments for scholarship recipients.
  • Assists Director of Development with expense tracking for all fundraising, friend-raising, and stewardship events.
  • Serve as a primary contact for event vendors, ensuring contracts are effectively managed.
  • Recruits and manages volunteers for annual fundraisers and other Foundation events.

15% Fundraising
  • Build relationships across the Southern Maryland region to cultivate in-kind and special gift donors.
  • Leads Foundation brick, theatre chair and alumni flag fundraising programs
  • Leads CSM Foundation employee giving program
  • Secure in-kind donations for Foundation fundraisers.
  • Support Foundation staff with content, data, and student information related to donor communications.

Additional Duties:
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree required.
  • Three years of experience in a non-profit setting, preferably with donor-facing and event planning experience, and engagement with a Board of Directors.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience with CRM and other non-profit portals; Blackbaud desired

Licenses, Certifications, or Additional Requirements:
  • Financial Disclosure is required for this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is mostly sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
