POSITION SUMMARY:

The Foundation Coordinator will report to the Senior Director of Communications for Heritage Grocers Group and provide administrative support, stewardship coordination, and program management support to elevate the philanthropic profile and programs of the Foundation. This position interacts with a broad range of stakeholders inclusive of HGG Team Members and vendor community in addition to community organizations and local business leaders and requires an excellent customer service approach that fosters and sustains lasting relationships.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide project and administrative support;
  • Assume administrative responsibilities that include, but are not limited to scheduling meetings, processing gifts/donations, and handling accounting processes for the Foundation;
  • Contribute to donor engagement activities including drafting emails, mailings, and gift acknowledgement letters;
  • Manage donor records;
  • Maintain donor relations over the phone, in person, and through written correspondence;
  • Responsible for the integrity of donation database by creating, organizing, and updating donor profiles;
  • Run customized stewardship and fund reports, as well as queries;
  • Assist in the design, publication, and production of philanthropic materials;
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of fundraising events;
  • Attendance of some evening and weekend events will be required as well as willingness to work extra hours as required;
  • Sporadic travel outside of California may be required for Foundation related business
  • Routinely handle highly confidential material;
  • Other duties as assigned by Leadership.



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields of marketing, communications, business administration preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a donor relation and/or fundraising environment;
  • Exceptional written communication skills to prepare, proofread, and edit a variety of correspondence and reports for correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling with excellent attention to detail;
  • Excellent organizational skills are essential;
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work well under pressure;
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism;
  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with all levels of individuals doing business from within and outside the Company;
  • Mastery skills of software programs MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook;
  • Fluent in speaking, reading and writing Spanish and English.
