Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 per year
A bit about us:We are working with a mid-size litigation firm in Chicago that handles a variety of both plaintiff & defense practice areas. They are seeking an Associate Attorney to join their defense team! This position will focus primarily on toxic tort/asbestos defense cases.
Location: Chicago, IL (Chicago Loop area)
Schedule: Monday-Friday; on-site
Base Salary: $100k-$150k/year + end of year bonus

Job Details- Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, status calls, pretrials, and trials
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
- Conduct thorough legal research and write briefs
- Manage all aspects of written discovery
- Prepare and take depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Participate in mediations
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
- Review case materials and draft evaluations, status reports, and litigation updates
- Assist in developing systems to manage deadlines and collaborate efficiently with other attorneys
- Litigate and defend general and complex matters on both local and national levels
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active Illinois Bar membership (in good standing)
- Civil Litigation Defense Experience: 5+ years
- Defense Experience: 5+ years
- Products Liability Experience: 4+ years
- Deposition and discovery experience
- Trial Experience: (Preferred)
- Alternative Dispute Resolution Experience
- Additional Practice area experience: Personal injury, Civil Rights Litigation, Mass Torts, or Medical Malpractice (Preferred)
