Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator proficient in operating sit-down propane and electric forklifts. The role involves providing production with necessary materials, staging batch tickets by priority, and ensuring efficient stock management using the FIFO method. The candidate will also be responsible for returning all goods from the drop zone to their proper locations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sit-down propane and electric forklifts.
  • Provide production with necessary materials for batch tickets.
  • Stage batch tickets by priority.
  • Return all goods from the drop zone to proper locations.
  • Pick and deliver all stock to production.
  • Pick and stage all materials for the batchers.
  • Verify necessary materials.
  • Perform daily cycle counts.
  • Wrap and relabel pallets.
  • Receive new stock and manage storage using the FIFO method.
  • Work collaboratively with production lines.
  • Fill totes and tankers, cut and weigh bags.
  • Load and unload trucks, stage pallets.
  • Scan products in and out with RF scanners.
  • Bring products to production lines.
  • Pick inventory.
  • Comfortably manage both forklift operation and production/material handler tasks.
  • Comfortable with heavy lifting.
Essential Skills
  • 1-2 years of Forklift Experience.
  • Experience with sit-down propane and electric forklifts.
  • Proficiency with RF scanners.
  • High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Reach Truck and Standup Electric Forklift is a plus.
  • Ability to wear respirators.
  • Comfortable with packaging, filling, bottling, wrapping, staging, palletizing, lifting boxes, labeling, hand filling, and general labor tasks.

Work Environment

The work environment is a smaller facility focused on continuous improvement. The warehouse and production floor are clean, allowing products to flow easily throughout. You'll work alongside others around machinery or conveyors, with comprehensive training provided. Expect to work in a collaborative setting, occasionally requiring steel-toed footwear and respirators. The role involves a 1st shift schedule from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with potential for occasional overtime and Saturdays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alsip, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
