The Role

As a Product Developer for Veloci Running, you’ll be a key driver in the brand’s product creation process, primarily surrounding footwear, managing projects from initial brief through final prototyping and commercialization. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, domestic and international, to ensure every product meets design intent, quality standards, and critical timelines. Your expertise will help deliver industry-defining, high-quality footwear that reflects Veloci’s commitment to comfort that performs.


Stepping into this role at a fast-paced, emerging running shoe brand will be blending an action-oriented startup mindset with vision and ambition to craft products that empower the health and wellness of runners globally. 


Your Impact

  • Manage the end-to-end product development process for multiple categories and product types
  • Problem-solve design tech packages to address construction, material, fit, wear, and cost concerns
  • Generate and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for all assigned projects
  • Review project status with product creation and development teams, focusing on patterns, molds, materials, pricing, and manufacturing processes
  • Support product teardowns to evaluate construction, comfort, and cost
  • Proactively identify issues and present solution options to team members
  • Support costing conversations with factories and internal teams
  • Review technical drawings, lab tests, patterns, components, and lasts to ensure quality and compliance
  • Plan and execute development projects according to critical timelines and pre-planned dates
  • Lead and facilitate timely creation, delivery, and approval of technical information
  • Manage fit and wear testing to ensure successful commercialization and mass production
  • Oversee sample delivery and approval to support smooth transitions into production
  • Strive for continuous improvement by examining defective returns and monitoring new technologies
  • Travel to development factories and trade shows as needed


We’d Love to Hear from People With

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in the footwear industry
  • Experience building product specifications and working knowledge of material applications
  • Strong understanding of product constructions and development processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe applications
  • Ability to use industry tools such as calipers, hardness gauge, tape measure, profile gauge, Brannock device, etc.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator across cross-functional teams
  • Creative problem-solver with a strong desire to lead product development as the brand grows
  • Skilled in establishing and upholding production roadmaps to meet critical deadlines.

Where

  • This is a full-time role based in Austin, Texas. Individual pay will be determined by additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
