The Food Service Worker performs a variety of functions related to Food Service Contract at DAFB DFAC including the preparation, cleaning, and maintaining of service lines; sanitation and cleaning of dining rooms, stocking and maintaining beverage stations and cleaning of dishes of patrons and those utilized in food preparation. $18.20hr, PT, PRN, on call as needed 

Essential Functions

  1. Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed, maintaining a clean and safe work area.

  2. Perform assigned functions related to dining room busser:

  • Refill all condiments, napkins, and plasticware.

  • Clean the tables, chairs, glass shields, dust windowsills, clean glass doors, pick up trays, and take out trash.

  • Clean the front entrance of the dining facility carpet, sweep/vacuum dining area and all partitions.

  • Clean the restrooms after each meal.

  1. Performs assigned functions related to the Clipper (Industrial Dishwasher System)

  • Scrape, rinse, and rack all used dishes including plates, trays, cups, and silverware.

  • Feed racks of dishes through the clipper for sanitation.

  • Unload all dishes, cups, trays, and flatware to appropriate carts and return to food service area.

  • Clean clipper machine (inside and out), clean walls, racks, drains and floor mats.

  • Sweep and Mop area after each meal.

  • Scrub floors as needed.

  • Empty trash throughout meal.

  1. Performs assigned function related to cleaning of Pots and Pans utilized in food preparation.

  • Retrieve dirty pots and pans from kitchen and service lines.

  • Wash all pots and pans to industry standard.

  • Return washed items to the correct location.

  • Clean machine (Inside and Out), clean walls, racks, drains and floor mats.

  • Sweep and Mop area regularly.

  • Scrub floors as needed.

  • Empty trash frequently.

  1. Performs assign functions related to the Front Utility

  • Stock bottled water, juice, and soda.

  • Cleans display refrigerators and wipe beverage machines.

  • Restock ice for soda machines, check CO2 and soda syrup for soda machine.

  • Restock Juice dispensers.

  • Ensure proper rotation of products, especially dairy, including removal and disposal of expired or spoiled items.

  • Sweep and Mop floors and picking up trash.

  • Clean and map restrooms after every meal.

  1. Performs assigned functions related to the Back and Special Utility:

  • Sweep and mop the kitchen floor after every meal.

  • Clean, mop and restock restrooms after every meal.

  • Empty trash and clean utility room.

  • Clean ovens, stoves, floor drains, and equipment (fryers, tilt grills, warmers, kettles).

  • Clean drains and coolers inside and out.

  • Clean the back dock area and pick up litter 10 feet around perimeter of facility.

Required Education and Experience

 

  1. Basic reading.

  3. Basic mathematics

 

Preferred Education and Experience

 

  1. High school graduate or GED.

  2. Two (2) years Food Service Experience

 

 

Licenses/Work Authorization/Security Clearance

 

  1. Drug Screen.

  2. Military DBID Access

  3. Food Handler Certification
