Job Description:
Norman Love Confections is looking to immediately hire a Food Safety Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our growing company. The position will report directly to our Director of Food Safety Quality Assurance & Production and will be responsible for assisting with all of the administrative responsibilities related to maintaining high level food safety & quality assurance standards in a food manufacturing environment.
An ideal candidate will have a bachelor degree related to the position and certification in HACCP or PCQI is a plus. This is an entry level FSQA Coordinator position and as a result we are in search of someone who is eager to learn and work under an experienced FSQA Manager.
Overview of Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following…
- Perform routine QA control and inspection tasks.
- Monitor and document CP and CCP on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
- Scan and maintain FSQA records and documents in SharePoint.
- Conduct GMP internal audits across all production sites.
- Perform Environmental, Allergen, and ATP swabbing and testing.
- Collect and prepare product samples for external laboratory testing maintain the records and documentation.
- Administer and maintain QA system documentation.
- Track and update COAs, product specifications, and supplier lists.
- Support investigations of non-conformities and food safety incidents.
- Maintain HACCP program, flow charts, risk analysis, and food defense/fraud documentation.
- Keep product specifications current for raw materials, finished goods, and packaging.
- Conduct traceability tests and identify system weaknesses.
- Handle QA documents, internal calibrations (temperature/weight/water activity), and general admin tasks.
- Follow up on missing information and maintain organized records (printing/scanning).
- Support food safety trainings, GFSI certification programs, and 3rd party/FDA/FDACS audits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure compliance and quality standards.
Requirements and skills:
**Work Authorization within the United States is required for this position.**
- Strong communication skills in English (basic Spanish is a plus).
- At least 3 years of QA/QC experience in a food manufacturing setting [experience in kitchens or food service alone does not meet this requirement.]
- Familiarity with ERP systems, SharePoint, MS Office and Outlook.
- HACCP, Internal Auditor, or PCQI certifications are preferred but not required. Strong willingness to complete these trainings is expected within the first 6–12 months (company-supported).
- Knowledge of iAuditor and 3M Luminometer is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when needed [such as during quality inspections, moving cases, accessing stored materials, or investigating issues on the production floor]
