MajorDuties

  • As a Fire Protection Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
  • Serves as Fire Protection Specialist with responsibility for performing phases of the total fire protection and prevention program.
  • Determines approaches, plans and carries out tasks, recognizing those situations not covered by policy and/or those situations which could set precedent.
  • Performs a variety of duties associated with the total fire protection and prevention program.
  • Performs technical review of contractor prepared designs and specifications for fire suppression/detection systems.
  • Determines information needed concerning characteristics capabilities and limitations of fire suppression/detection items.
  • Conducts training of firefighters in basic fire inspection methods and fire regulations.
  • Conducts presentations and lectures on fire and safety topics throughout the installation as well as off the installation.
  • Develops/updates department SOPs based on direction and guidance from Fire Chief.
