Guard Dog Networks is a Nashville-based low-voltage integrator specializing in fire alarm, access control, security systems, AV, and networking. We're building out our fire alarm service line and looking for a lead technician to own it — with crossover into security and access control as needed.
What you'll do
- Install, inspect, test, and service fire alarm systems on commercial projects across Middle Tennessee
- Read and work from blueprints, as-builts, and riser diagrams
- Pull and close permits; complete AHJ inspections independently
- Program and commission fire alarm control panels (Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Potter, or equivalent)
- Pull and terminate Cat6 and low-voltage data cabling as needed across project types
- Support access control and security camera installations alongside fire alarm work
- Document work clearly — service reports, inspection records, and job notes
- Represent GDN professionally on job sites alongside GCs, owners, and inspectors
What we're looking for
- NICET Level I required; Level II strongly preferred
- 3+ years of hands-on fire alarm installation and service experience
- Experience with Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, or Potter panels a plus — panel brand matters less than overall competency
- Comfortable running conduit, pulling wire, and terminating devices correctly
- Comfortable pulling and terminating Cat6/low-voltage data cabling — this is a cross-discipline role and you'll regularly support access control and camera system installations alongside fire alarm work
- Clean driving record and valid TN driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check
What we offer
- Competitive pay based on experience — we pay for NICET and what you know
- Company-paid NICET exam fees and study materials — we invest in your certification path at every level
- Health insurance — BCBS Silver plan with $35 primary care copays and $0 Teladoc
- 80 hours PTO from day one, increasing to 120 hours after 3 years — and we actually require you to use it
- 13 paid holidays (including the day after the Super Bowl)
- Company vehicle or truck allowance
- All tools and PPE provided
- Company uniforms provided
- $75/day per diem on out-of-town work
