Financial Systems & Operations Analyst

OPPORTUNITY: Contract to Hire

LOCATION: Tempe, AZ (100% Onsite)



Summary

Advises senior leadership by converting operational data into actionable insights through quantitative analysis, forecasting, and modeling.

Key liaison between finance and plant operations to drive financial performance and process improvement.


Responsibilities

  1. Develop and enhance budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling tools
  2. Track direct spend to identify variances, cost drivers, and reduction opportunities
  3. Build expense analyses, projections, and ROI models for capital investment decisions
  4. Serve as WMS/ERP Power User — configure, train, and support end users for system accuracy and inventory reporting
  5. Review purchase orders, validate GL coding, and enforce financial classification and approval workflows
  6. Own MRO spend tracking across all plants — deliver monthly variance analysis and weekly cost driver insights to plant leadership
  7. Execute monthly financial close including expense review, accruals, reconciliations, and budget-to-actual variance analysis
  8. Review and approve yield loss and damage adjustments for accurate financial impact in reporting
  9. Maintain plant documents, reporting templates, and system tools for data integrity and process alignment
  10. Lead year-end audits and physical inventory counts across all Arizona locations


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights and communicate findings cross-functionally
  • Financial modeling experience with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Hands-on WMS and/or ERP experience with ability to train and support end users
  • Solid understanding of general ledger and GAAP
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Inventory management experience within a WMS or ERP environment
  • Familiarity with MRO procurement and spend management
  • Multi-site or multi-plant experience preferred
  • SQL and Power BI skills a plus
