UTHealth Houston is seeking a personable, detail-oriented Financial Support Specialist for the Student Loan Collections area of the Office of Student Financial Aid. You must be a team player with excellent customer service and communication skills. Applicants should be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word, with an advanced skill set that includes mail merge. Accounts receivable experience is required. Student loan collections and accounts payable experience preferred.
This is a customer service role focused on student loans. You will monitor delinquent accounts. The employee will draft letters and monitor loans. He or she will make collection referrals and advise on litigation matters related to accounts. You will respond to account-related queries via phone and email. They will also serve as backup for preparing weekly deposits and making journal entries.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. It is eligible for full benefits, including healthcare coverage and an excellent State-run retirement program. The building it works in is accessible by Metro Rail or bus.

Position Summary:
Under clearly defined supervision, performs a variety of basic to moderately complex financial support tasks for assigned area. Departments may provide additional guidance with a departmental position description.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Certification/Skills:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required.
FMS, HRMS, and/or Campus Solutions training with a passing score may be required.
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
One (1) year related work experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
