SALARY: The salary range for this position is $68,496.36 to $108,810.90 for Schedule A, and $68,496.36 to $103,370.32for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The Somerset/Hunterdon/Warren Vicinage Finance Division is seeking a finance professional with strong analytical, customer service, and administrative skills to perform accounting, financial and reconciliation functions. The successful candidate will exhibit technical competence, PC skills, reasoning ability and self-management, interpersonal and communication skills.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Duties may include:

  • Coordinate workflow of child support financial alerts in NJKIDS for Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren counties.
  • Train staff on proper submission and completion of financial notes.
  • Perform child support audits by reviewing financial information in NJKIDS for completeness and accuracy.
  • Serve as the child support compliance officer to ensure IRS safeguards are maintained.
  • Recommend improvements in operating procedures, programs, standards, work processes, or administrative practices.
  • Develop training manuals, visual aids, or other materials.
  • Conduct monthly review of JEDS activity for Family, Law, Special Civil, and Chancery, and complete required reconciliations of unprocessed financial transactions.
  • Navigate various legacy and proprietary technology systems to extract needed data.
  • Conduct financial reviews within the Guardianship Monitoring Program to ensure all financial data is compliant.
  • Perform cash control functions (daily cash register cash outs, deposit preparations, and reconciliations) as needed.
  • Adhere to accounting and internal control standards to maintain fiscal integrity.
  • Advise managers on deadlines, rules, regulations, or related information.
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Court Executive 2B (Finance Division Manager) and/or Court Executive 1B (Assistant Finance Division Manager) as operationally required.

Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree including or supplemented by 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, statistics, mathematics, data analytics and/or financial related courses, six credit hours of which must be in accounting, in addition to three years of professional accounting, auditing, budgeting, cash management and/or financial analysis.

Substitution:Applicants who do not possess the required education, but do possess the 21 accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, statistics, mathematics, data analytics and/or financial related courses, including six accounting credit hours, may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, economics, accounting, statistics, mathematics, data analytics or finance may be substituted for one year of general experience-OR-a CPA designation may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above.

Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
