Source One is a consulting services company and we’re currently looking for the following individual to work as a hybrid consultant to our direct client, a global pharmaceutical company in Basking Ridge, NJ.
Job Title: Financial Operations Analyst (Contract)
Duration: Initially 8 months with possible extension
Pay Range: $40-$50/hr (W-2) - depending on experience
Schedule: M-F, 40 hours a week
Summary: Seeking a Financial Operations Analyst who can own budgets, track forecasts, and coordinate across teams in a structured environment. Experience in a pharma, clinical research, or biotech environment is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile invoiced Accounts Payable activity against planned budget forecasts within Smartsheet® for three assets.
- Assist in maintaining Excel spreadsheets, as necessary per the direction of the Asset PMs.
- Support Asset PMs in preparing for the July and October Latest Estimate (LE) budget cycles.
- Attend GMAT meetings focused on Plan and LE budget reviews and document budget changes.
- Conduct monthly meetings with Externally Sponsored Research (ESR), Company Sponsored Studies (CSS) and Evidence Generation (EvGen) teams within Clinical Trial Management, Resources, Operations & Governance (CTMROG) to review changes in their live forecasts. These meetings will be performed jointly with the respective Asset PMs.
- Create monthly variance reporting for the Asset PMs to review and approve.
- Meet monthly with the Executive Director, S&OE, to assess progress, identify roadblocks and provide recommendations for budget process optimization.
- Attend S&OE team meetings, as requested.
- Prioritize work assignments based on direction from the Director, Finance & Operational Excellence.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst
- Experience in budget tracking required
- Experience in forecasting support required
- Experience in variance reporting required
- Experience in reconciliation required
- Cross-functional coordination experience required
- Exposure to clinical research/biotech environments is a plus
- Excel/Smartsheet and data management experience is required for maintaining trackers, updating forecasts and reporting monthly changes
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting strongly preferred
