Job Description

General Summary Of Duties:

Assist the Executive Director of Planning & Analysis and VP of finance with the production of various reports and analyses. Preparation and analytical review of financial and gaming-related reports and materials including the Daily Management Report (DMR), financial statement analysis, labor reports, entertainment settlements, comp exception reports and other various monthly and quarterly reports. Provide assistance in the annual budget and preparation process and provide periodic analysis of performance against budget.  Ability to develop, maintain and enhance computer models. Provide analytical and financial support to upper management. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while complying with all Company rules and regulations required. Other job-related duties as assigned. 

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

  • Develop financial models through benchmarking and process analysis
  • Continuously improve processes through automation and simplification of complex financial reports
  • Prepares forecasts and cost projections for the DMR
  • Prepare pro and post-formas for all events and programs within area of expertise to determine profitability and make recommendations for improvement.  Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations
  • Compare anticipated and actual results and communicate findings to cross-functional teams and property leadership
  • Compare period results and determine impact to financial statements
  • Coordinate with leadership on long-term financial planning
  • Participate in the budget process for assigned functional area
  • Establish best practices and policies for the gathering, manipulation and presentation of standardized reports and analytics pertaining to assigned areas of expertise
  • Collaborate with department leaders and provide Ad Hoc reporting for operational efficiency
  • Provide KPI’s (Key performance indicators) for property leadership
  • Responsible for performing the day- to-day financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas
  • Research and resolve business unit inquiries for assigned functional areas
  • Routine communication with supervisors relating to routine and ad hoc analysis, issues and deliverables
  • Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for assigned functional areas
  • Responsible for the preparation and analysis of the periodic management reporting of financial results for assigned functional areas
  • Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance
  • Continue education and self-development through cross-training within the department and into other functional areas.

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

Excellent computer skills and proficiency in programs including: Excel, Word, Power Point Cognos, and query software, SQL, ACSC, Infinium, LMS.

Qualifications

Experience  Requirements

5+ years previous experience in financial analysis and accounting principles and theories with the successful application of these concepts in a hotel/casino environment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
