DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst III to join our team of professionals. The Financial Analyst III work collaboratively with the client department and oversees the management of funds on the annual budget. In addition, Financial Analyst III performs monthly and quarterly reporting, ad-hoc reporting, forecasts, planning, and reviews financial risks.


Analysts will also provide administrative capital management support. This entails setting up capital projects in the record keeping system, supporting the capital budget and appropriation process, research and reporting. Assists the Division in the budget and capital improvement plan preparation process.

Other duties include:

  • Investigates and makes recommendations for addressing issues of low to medium complexity and/or sensitivity.
  • Compile data, develop reports, special documents or publications as assigned.
  • Responds to correspondence, requests for information, etc. as assigned by supervisor.
  • Negotiates solutions for problems of low to medium complexity as assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in evaluation and design of workflow, processes, various operations systems, etc.
  • Provide solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Customer service and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.


WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three years of professional experience in finance, economics, budget analysis or a closely related area are required.

Substitutions: Experiencecannotbe substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement. A Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field may be substituted for two years of the above experience requirement.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: None

Preference will be given to candidates with operational budget and capital management experience with the ability to multi-task in a high volume fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to details and accuracy. Effective time management skills. Team oriented, effective written and oral communications skills. Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
