Our client, a global beauty retailer, is seeking a Finance Manager to own planning, tracking, and reporting for the Global Merchandising Brand Incubation budget and Global Merchandising Opex. This role partners closely with global and regional stakeholders to deliver clear financial insights, strengthen forecasting accuracy, and improve financial governance across merchandising investments. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, global environment where strong business partnership and disciplined execution are key.
**Please note this is an 8-month onsite contract role located in San Francisco, CA. Pay will be $75-95/hr DOE.**
Key Responsibilities
- Own tracking, forecasting, and reporting for Global Merchandising Brand Incubation spend across countries, regions, and brands.
- Partner with regional teams on monthly actuals review, variance analysis, issue resolution, and forecast alignment.
- Manage Global Merchandising Opex tracking, including travel and team expenses, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Produce executive-ready reporting packages and monthly financial updates for Global Merchandising leadership.
- Lead end-to-end forecasting cycles, including annual budget, bi-annual forecasts, and monthly internal forecasting processes.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Finance, Merchandising, and Marketing teams across global and regional markets.
- Translate business priorities into financial insights, recommendations, and decision support for leadership.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and scenario modeling to support strategic decisions.
- Maintain awareness of global merchandising strategy and calendar to anticipate funding needs and reporting requirements.
- Drive process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and controls through standardization, documentation, and automation.
- Strengthen financial governance, including tracking discipline, accruals, and invoicing processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- 5–10+ years of progressive finance experience; retail or global enterprise experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ownership of full budget cycle, including planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and year-end close/landing.
- Experience working with multi-currency planning and FX conversions for year-over-year analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Copilot preferred.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to executive audiences.
- Flexibility to support global teams across multiple time zones, including occasional off-hours meetings.
- Final candidates will complete an Excel work sample (take-home) and live defense using core Excel functions (tables, pivots, formulas only).
