COMPENSATION: $16,021.73 - $24,250.13 Monthly. This position is subject to the provisions of LACERA’s Management Appraisal and Performance Plan (MAPP). A 4.5% salary increase is approved effective January 1, 2026.

ABOUTTHEPOSITIONThe Finance Analyst III works under the general administrative and technical direction of a Senior Investment Officer, LACERA who has immediate responsibility assist in the management of an asset class of the Los Angeles County Employee Retirement Association (LACERA) investment portfolios, such as: Fixed Income; Real Estate; Equities; or Alternative Assets. Depending upon the asset class to which the incumbent is assigned, the work involves activities such as assisting in the supervision of subordinate analyst staff and secretarial/clerical support staff, preparation of recommendations regarding investment policy, negotiating contracts for investment managers, and other investment related services, and implementing investment portfolio reallocations. In addition to the higher level more complex work, the positions in this classification are distinguished from the lower-level finance analyst classifications by their level of independence and direct responsibility making financial decisions which impact an asset class.

The Investments Division at LACERA encompasses a diverse array of asset classes, including Public Equities, Private Equity, Real Assets (Infrastructure and Natural Resources), Real Estate, Fixed Income, Hedge Funds, Credit, Direct Investments (Private Markets), Portfolio Analytics (Performance and Risk Management), and Corporate Governance Stewardship (Environmental, Social, and Governance).

The Investment Division has a vacancy within the Portfolio Analytics (“PA”) team. PA is responsible for total Fund risk management, performance measurement, compliance, operations, and reporting for both the Pension and OPEB Master Trust. PA is also responsible for the investment oversight of the OPEB Master Trust, cash management, securities lending, and cash overlay programs for both Funds. The position is needed to help implement and monitor fund-wide initiatives across multiple asset categories as well as the OPEB Master Trust.

VACANCYINFORMATIONThe current vacancy is in the Portfolio Analytics section of the Investments Office. The resulting eligible register for this examination may be used to fill current and future vacancies, as they occur.

The Finance Analyst III position is an exempt position as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime.

Certification Bonus: Any permanent, full-time employee working in this classification possessing a valid Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute is entitled to a Certification Bonus equal to two (2) salary schedules (approximately 5.5%) as provided by the Los Angeles County Step Pay Plan.

Work Schedule: This position is required to work a 5/40 schedule (e.g.an eight (8) hour day, Monday through Friday) for at least the first twelve (12) months of employment. The Investment Office currently works a hybrid work model with all staff members in the office two (2) days per week (generally Monday and Wednesday) and the first Tuesday and third Thursday of every month, and as organizational needs warrant. LACERA may revise the hybrid work model at its discretion, as circumstances warrant.
