Hours per week: 40 Position Summary: Infant of Prague Catholic School is a PK–12 school located in Jacksonville, NC. We are currently accepting applications for a dedicated and faith-filled Fifth Grade Teacher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for working with upper elementary students, foster academic growth across core subject areas, and support the spiritual development of students in alignment with Catholic values. Preference will be given to candidates who actively support the Catholic faith and mission of the school. Key responsibilities:
Perform professional responsibilities of a teacher, including but not limited to planning engaging, standards-based lessons across core subjects (Religion, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies), preparing instructional materials aligned with the Diocese of Raleigh curriculum, attending meetings and school functions, serving on faculty committees, communicating with parents and administration, and maintaining positive relationships with peers, students, parents, and Administration
Accept and actively support the mission of the school as articulated at the Diocesan, school, and parish levels
Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily instruction and classroom culture
Implement the educational mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school
Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction that challenges and supports fifth grade students to maximize their individual academic and social potential
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and promote critical thinking and independence
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to build strong partnerships with colleagues, students, parents, and Administration
Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment with effective classroom management practices
Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction and provide feedback
Encourage student responsibility, leadership, and readiness for middle school transition
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field (required)
Minimum years of 3 years’ work experience in area(s) related to: ELA, Reading, Writing
Teaching licensure (or ability to obtain licensure in North Carolina)
