Education
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Successfully complete or have completed the Land Management Police Training (LMPT) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center within 1 year of appointment. Must maintain a delegation of Law Enforcement Authority. Must successfully complete 40 hours of in-service training annually. You cannot hold an active real estate license: nor can you have an interest or hold stocks in firms with interest in Federal Lands. Appointment will be subject to a favorably adjudicated background/suitability investigation/determination. Selectee must obtain and maintain a Non-Critical Sensitive Security Clearance. An applicant appointed to this position must possess (or obtain prior to entrance on duty) and maintain a valid state driver's license. You must pass a pre-employment physical. You must complete and pass all five events of the physical efficiency battery (PEB) tests prior to employment at or above the 25th percentile. In addition, this position must complete annual PEB requirements. Applicant tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use and to pass the test prior to appointment. In addition, this position is subject to random testing for illegal drug use. Cannot have a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction prohibiting him/her from possessing, receiving, transferring, or accessing firearms or ammunition in violation of the provisions of 18 USC 922. The duties of this position may require you to perform irregular or occasional overtime per week, including extended and varying hours, weekends, holidays and night shifts. The position may qualify for Administratively Uncontrollable Overtime (AUO). You may be required to travel overnight occasionally away from home. You must obtain a government charge card for travel and purchasing purposes. All Uniformed LEOs will wear the authorized uniform, be properly equipped, be well groomed, and exhibit a professional appearance while performing their official duties. All Law Enforcement Rangers who are new to the BLM are required to complete the introduction to Resource Protection Training Program within their first two years of assignment. Must be able to safely and proficiently utilize firearms, non-lethal weapons, and defensive tactics in the conduct of daily activities. This position must complete annual firearms proficiency.
