Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to support basic commissioning activities. This role involves hands-on and execution-focused tasks, including installation verification, IO checkout, device configuration, and initial power-on activities. The technician will work independently on assigned tasks while coordinating with senior engineers and site leadership as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Verify digital, analog, and safety IO.
  • Support manual operation and basic checkout activities.

Essential Skills

Must Haves

1.Mechanical & Electrical Troubleshooting-Ability to independently diagnose and repair industrial equipment issues involving motors, gearboxes, sensors, wiring, and control panels.

2.Ability to Read Technical Documentation-Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, P&IDs, and OEM manuals to support installation, commissioning, and repairs.

3.PLC Exposure (Hands On or Willing to Learn)-Working knowledge of PLC controlled equipment with the ability (or clear willingness) to make basic program changes or adjustments in the field.

4.Installation & Commissioning Experience-Proven ability to install, start up, and commission manufacturing or processing equipment at customer sites with minimal supervision.

5.Industrial Safety Awareness-Familiarity with OSHA standards, lockout/tagout, and working safely in industrial environments while wearing PPE.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting onsite commissioning in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Experience in Rockwell Automation controls environment strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to Schneider Electric PLC platforms in commissioning or support roles is advantageous.
  • Experience with drive systems (VFDs and/or servos) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of gantry systems, motion control, or material handling is a plus.

Work Environment

. The role requires working independently on site with minimal supervision, while occasionally coordinating with senior engineers and site leadership. The technician will be working with various industrial automation equipment, including PLCs, control panels, and drive systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Eastlake, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
