Field Service Technician

Direct Hire | Nationwide Travel | Remote-Based

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to support commercial and industrial boiler systems for clients nationwide. This is a hybrid/remote role with extensive travel to customer sites and occasional reporting to the main facility. Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of hands-on boiler service experience and a strong background in industrial electrical or HVAC systems.

Position Overview

The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, commissioning, warranty work, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of packaged boiler and hydronic systems. Technicians work independently in the field, traveling nationally to customer sites and serving as the primary technical resource during service visits.

  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (½-hour lunch), with flexibility based on customer needs

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, install, and commission hydronic and boiler systems
  • Perform combustion analysis and system performance testing
  • Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems (240V/480V) using prints and schematics
  • Navigate, troubleshoot, modify, and create basic PLC programs
  • Lead complex equipment troubleshooting and document corrective actions
  • Replace or repair defective mechanical and electrical components
  • Provide preventative maintenance and emergency repair services
  • Disassemble and inspect malfunctioning boiler room equipment
  • Apply Plumbing and Mechanical Code knowledge during installations and repairs
  • Accurately document service calls using field service software
  • Maintain a clean, organized service van and job site
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required
  • Attend in-house and industry training, staff meetings, and technical updates
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience servicing commercial or industrial boilers
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in boiler and hydronic systems
  • Ability to travel nationally on a regular basis
  • Industrial electrical experience (reading prints, wiring, troubleshooting)
  • HVAC experience within an industrial or commercial setting
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining professional customer interaction
Preferred Skills
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of Plumbing and Mechanical codes
  • Experience documenting work through field-based service software
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr.
