Field Commercial Casualty Production Underwriter | Remote

Our client, a top-rated insurance carrier, is expanding their underwriting department and seeking to add a Field Commercial Casualty Production Underwriter to their team. This person will be responsible for underwriting and pricing new and renewal Commercial Casualty business within the Excess & Surplus (E&S) market. Working closely with producers, this role focuses on soliciting new business, managing renewals, and ensuring underwriting profitability across the Vermont and Western Massachusetts territory. This is a fully remote position with a company vehicle!

• Assess individual risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions for complex surplus lines commercial casualty policies.
• Develop, analyze, and evaluate information to identify exposures and make well-informed underwriting decisions.
• Visit producers / wholesale brokers
• Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, assisting in client retention and achieving mutual business growth.
• Achieve established production and loss ratio targets for the assigned regional territory.
• Maintain awareness of market trends and competitive landscape to drive new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

• 3 - 7+ years experience in Commercial Casualty underwriting, preferably in the surplus lines/E&S market.
• Must have Production Underwriting and/or Territory Marketing experience.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building producer relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
