Beyond Blindness is a one -stop support resource for these children, and their families, and provides services in clients’ homes, at its location in Santa Ana, and in schools throughout Orange County. Position Summary The Family Support Coordinator position reports to the Family Support Associate and will support day to day program coordination under the guidance of the Family Support Associate and Volunteer Coor dinator. They will coordinate family and community support initiatives, including family and community events, enrichment programs, and volunteer and intern engagement . This individual will support family support services through strong customer relationship management, superior communication, and organizational skills as a part of the organization’s overall mission to provide a continuity of holist ic care. The job duties listed are intended as a guide to the general job responsibilities. Responsibilities Family Support : • Assist the Family Support Associate in monthly family and community outreach event logistics , which include venues, activity and curriculum , food, registration and surveys • Maintain the Family Support MailChimp listserv and coordinate new family contact entries with Classroom Manager, ECM Team , and Scheduling and Contracts Coordinator s • Facilitate Family Support communication efforts which include event promotion and newsletters • Coordinate curriculum and day-to-day needs of weekly Learning Link program • Assist in the coordination o f monthly Social Emotional Learning group activities • Assist in annual core programs or new programs assigned to Family Support Volunteer and Intern Support: • Using the volunteer management system, c oordinate onboarding and paperwork for incoming volunteers and interns , create opportunities , organize daily assignments and track attendance and participation • Maintain the daily volunteer schedule, annual volunteer calendar and yearbook • Shadow volunteers and interns to assist with role support • Participate in volunteer and intern recruitment events • Coordinate and participate in group volunteer events and days • Assist in volunteer appreciation efforts Community Outreach and Support: • Coordinate all community outreach opportunities; represent Beyond Blindness at tabling events • Maintain local resource database • Along with the Wellness Service and LCM Provider , attend and provide community vision screenings • Along with the Wellness Service and LCM Provider , represent Beyond Blindness at community meetings • In collaboration with the Wellness Service and LCM Provider , maintain community resource board Education & Experience • High School diploma or GED required • Bachelor’s degree in family studies, social work, human services, communications or related field or comparable work experience preferred . • Experience in programs and event coordination. • Experience or knowledge in community outreach and family service a plus. • Proven customer relationship management. • Bilingual preferred Expectations • Belief in mission. • Conduct self in a professional manner. • Willing to work evenings and weekends. • Respectful to supervisors and coworkers. • Regards all employee info as highly confidential. • Willingness as coordinator to answer phones and conduct other admin duties as agency needs. Licensing & Accreditation Requirements All employees working for Beyond Blindness are required to always meet the following : 1. LiveScan Fingerprint clearance and background check - DOJ/FBI/Child Abuse Index (upon hire/ re-hire) 2. Health Screening ( upon hire/re -hire) 3. Proof of immunity to Measles or MMR Vaccination Record (one time) 4. Flu Vaccine within one year (a nd annually thereafter or signed waiver ) 5. TDAP Vaccine within last 10 years (and every 10 years thereafter) 6. Current COVID -19 Vaccine ( preferred) 7. Clear TB test or Chest X -ray within last 4 years (and every 4 years thereafter) 8.
