The University of North Alabama’s Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions (ACONHP) is seeking a qualified full-time tenure-track faculty member at the rank of assistant professor for the nursing program. Candidates who qualify for a non-tenure-track appointment at the rank of lecturer will also be considered. Salary and rank will be based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. The ACONHP is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education [One DuPont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036, (202) 463-6930] and approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing. Application review will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled.Essential job duties include: Teach 12 – 15 credit hours of undergraduate coursework per semester; provide clinical supervision of students; recruit and advise students; engage in scholarly activities and professional service; engage in service to the department, college, and university; participate in curriculum and course development activities within the department and college; maintain office hours in accordance with university policy; ability to teach within the instructional areas of medical/surgical nursing, critical care, nutrition, and other undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses; and perform all other duties as assigned.Minimum qualifications for this position include: a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution is required (for appointment as NTT, Lecturer); Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited institution is preferred (required for appointment at TT, Assistant Professor); family nurse practitioner or psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner certification is preferred; five years of clinical practice is required; three years of classroom or clinical teaching experience in an accredited registered nursing program or higher degree nursing program is preferred; an unrestricted nursing license for the State of Alabama, or the ability to obtain such, is required; and online teaching experience and/or willingness to teach online courses is preferred.Applicants must upload a cover letter and resume/CV at the time of application as well as provide contact information (including email address) for at least three professional/academic references.
