Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Facility Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of a large, newly constructed high-rise commercial facility in Miami, FL. This role is responsible for ensuring all building systems operate efficiently and reliably to support uninterrupted daily operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who has progressed from a technical background into a supervisory role and has strong experience with commercial building systems, especially HVAC and mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and support a team of maintenance technicians
Assign, prioritize, and monitor work orders to ensure timely completion
Perform regular facility inspections and address maintenance issues proactively
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including: HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, air systems), Pumps and heat exchangers, Electrical and plumbing systems, Building automation systems (BMS)
Coordinate with external vendors and subcontractors for repairs and services
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory
Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to emergency situations
Support continuous improvement of facility operations and maintenance practices
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, including supervisory experience
OR a 2-year technical degree with relevant experience
Strong experience working in commercial or high-rise buildings
In-depth knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance programs
Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) or CMMS platforms
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulations
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to troubleshoot complex maintenance issues and make sound decisions
Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification
Experience working in mission-critical or large-scale facilities
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
Ability to climb ladders and operate maintenance equipment
