Overview
Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the plant facility. Utilize sanitizing chemicals and cleaning equipment as needed.
Responsibilities
- Clean, sanitize, sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum all areas assigned: bathrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells, welfare areas, and production offices.
- Responsible for maintaining clean and safe work areas, free from slippery surfaces and floors littered with debris.
- Clean and sanitize walls, windows, tables, floors, and like surfaces.
- Empty trash and garbage containers. The employee must pick up cigarette butts, paper, and any debris that is found inside or outside the facility.
- Visually observant of repairs or issues in the plant such as missing tiles, light bulb replacement, etc. and report to management.
- Operate several types of motorized cleaning equipment. Will use, maintain, and store equipment properly.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and understand cleaning labels.
- Must be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to operate small power or hand tools.
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment, such as ride-on scrubbers.
- Basic computer skills are not required.
Demonstrated Competencies
- Work independently and complete assigned tasks.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
- Must have regular and punctual attendance.
Physical Requirements
- This position requires sitting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, reaching, bending, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60lbs.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Experience: Previous janitorial experience is advantageous, but not required.Education: High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.Department: Operations
