Job Title: Facilities Operations Manager

Job Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance staff and coordinating daily work assignments. This role includes supervising contractors, inspecting work for quality, and maintaining facility systems such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. The Operations Manager ensures compliance with safety standards and manages various safety programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assign jobs and coordinate priorities for maintenance staff.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors.
  • Inspect work completed by outside contractors to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and facility systems.
  • Conduct major repairs and provide consulting services on equipment troubleshooting.
  • Recommend and perform upgrades on equipment, such as electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Oversee sanitation and trash removal in accordance with GMP guidelines.
  • Assist with snow removal and apply sand and salt as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the facility.
  • Maintain supply inventory for equipment parts and place orders when necessary.
  • Interface with vendors and oversee contractors for assigned projects.
  • Maintain records and maintenance logs.
  • Manage Environmental Health & Safety compliance, safety inspections, and OSHA requirements.
  • Manage safety training programs and lead the Plant Safety Team.
  • Perform projects such as moving furniture, wall repairs, painting, and general building upkeep.
  • Operate and manage the facility security system.
  • Manage emergency response protocols.
  • Handle local, state, and federal facility registrations.
  • Order and manage facilities spare parts.
  • Ensure pest control measures are in place.
  • Complete corporate training as required.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA's Good Manufacturing Practices and OSHA standards.
  • Contribute to team building and support overall achievement.

Essential Skills

  • Operations management and facilities maintenance expertise.
  • Strong repair skills, particularly in environmental health and safety.
  • Proficiency in mechanical and preventive maintenance.
  • Project management experience.
  • Six years of experience in environmental health and safety, and equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer use.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • B.S. in Business Administration or related major is a plus.
  • Certifications in electrical, welding, plumbing, and/or building management are advantageous.

Work Environment

The role oversees both laboratory and manufacturing environments. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, with flexible hours ideally starting from 6:30 am to 7 am and ending at 3:30 pm to 4 pm.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hadley, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
