Facilities Construction Project Manager

Construction/Project Manager 2 to work with one of our construction management teams at one of our largest energy accounts in Houston, TX. This position functions as a key member of the Design and Construction management team. This Construction/Project Manager 2 will collaborate with a team of project managers who will oversee capital project teams and stakeholders, ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled throughout the design, construction, and implementation phases.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop project schedules and execute according to plan for assigned projects.
  • Evaluate the contractual scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directives and/or scheduling changes.
  • Actively pursue additional work through change orders.
  • Perform associated cost estimates, prepare proposals, and negotiate final settlement price and customer acceptance.
  • Effectively communicate project progress, issues, and financial status to management as required.
  • Develop and maintain viable long-term relationships with consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Attend and lead job progress meetings as required.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years of Construction/Project Management experience within new construction, renovations, MEP infrastructure, and working in critical environments preferred
  • Strong Personal Computer working capabilities in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environment) as well as MS project, Procore and Bluebeam preferred
  • OSHA 30 (or the ability to gain certification within 120 days of hire)
  • Ability to embrace ambiguity and work effectively in environments with undefined processes.

Position Summary:

Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated capital projects. Reviews project proposal, establishes work plan and manages contractors to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.

  • Project Engineering including following specifications, design adaptation by ensure design and specifications meet codes and specification
  • Sub-contractor management
  • Administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, minutes, maintaining documentation and customer liaison
