Job Title: Facilities Associate

Work Location: Middlesex County, New Jersey

Summary:

The Facilities Associate is responsible for a variety of building maintenance and repair tasks across multiple disciplines, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general cleaning. This role ensures the upkeep, safety, and functionality of facilities, supporting operational needs and responding to maintenance requests as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings and structures to identify maintenance needs and recommend repairs.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting, utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Reconfigure and install modular office furniture and equipment to optimize workspace and accommodate user requirements.
  • Prepare surfaces and apply paint or protective coatings to various structures and equipment to prevent corrosion and maintain appearance.
  • Negotiate with vendors, order necessary parts, and maintain accurate documentation for maintenance activities.
  • Operate snow removal equipment and maintain sidewalks and parking areas as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness of facilities by removing trash and performing general cleaning duties.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls and perform additional tasks as assigned to support facility operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or technical school certification.
  • Current state-issued driver’s license without restrictions.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting required; HVAC knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficient in using basic maintenance tools and equipment, as well as miscellaneous office equipment (computer, copiers, fax machine, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule work assignments independently.
  • Ability to tolerate various environmental conditions, travel between multiple locations, and be available during non-work hours for emergencies.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, crouch, push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive hand movements.
