Our Fabrication Center is a manufacturing organization that specializes in metal work. Our team supports customers from every defense department along with collaborative efforts with each Northrop Grumman sector. Our manufacturing focuses on sheet metal fabrication, large assembly, surface finishing, advanced model CNC machining along with advanced inspection techniques in both NDI and 3D technologies.
Your duties include:
Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
Your specific duties include, but may not be limited to:
Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules; integrating multiple program schedule requests into one executable schedule for production teams
Resolves conflicts between competing programs for common resources
Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed
Use your understanding of critical path schedule network processing, driven by logic, durations and date constraints
Use your experience with IMP/IMS schedule structure
Export schedule data to Excel and working with responsible parties to gather and report schedule status and productivity metrics per weekly and monthly reporting cycles
Use your experience with critical and driving path identification and analysis
Use your experience resource loading schedules, including both labor and material
Work independently with minimum supervision, yet understands the importance of the Master Production Scheduler role in contributing to the overall success of the program team
Integrate external customer or subcontractor program activity into the master production schedule
Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods
Basic Qualifications:
This position may be hires as a Production Planner/Scheduler or a Principal Production Planner/Scheduler.
Production Planner/Scheduler: 6 years of Planner/Scheduler related experience with a High School diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor's degree and 2 yrs of Planner/Scheduler related experience; An Associate's degree and a minimum of 4 years of Planner/Scheduler related experience may also be considered.
Principal Production Planner/Scheduler: A High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 9 yrs of Planner/Scheduler related experience with an aviation background. A Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study and a minimum of 5 years of experience or an Associate's degree and a minimum of 7 yrs of related experience with an aviation background, may also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
A current Secret Clearance.
Aviation experience as a Production Planner/Scheduler.
