Summary: The position of External Parts and Equipment Specialist within Reliant Fire Apparatus, Inc. is focused on customer support and communication, parts and equipment identification and ordering, and growth and development of external parts and equipment sales.


This role will have direct customer interaction with parts identification, ordering, tracking, and quoting responsibilities.


Job Responsibilities:

What you do:

  • Own the Reliant External Parts and Equipment process, make recommendations and implement process improvements for growth
  • Identify, order, and receive parts, supports service department by ensuring prompt and sufficient parts delivery. Maintain internal warehouse of service parts in an organized manner and implement changes as necessary to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Resource Management - Monitor performance and identify issues that affect the parts process. Develop and implement solutions to identify issues.
  • Quality Assurance – Execute service parts orders with extremely high levels of accuracy to prevent incorrect parts and misordering parts.
  • Customer Communication – Lead and understand customer communication, proactively identify and resolve potential challenges with customer orders, provide alternative solutions as needed to maintain service order timing and performance

  • Team centered culture – Mitigating disfunction and waste by continually refining service order operations, ensuring efficient, consistent, and effective execution through process and communication
  • Foster engagement and communication – Take ownership of parts department growth and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team, including Technicians, Warranty, Service Center Manager, and Service Coordinator
  • Risk & Issue Management - Leverage technical knowledge to proactively identify order risks & issues and steps to mitigate. Communicate alternative solutions to challenges with parts availability, lead times, etc. Ensure cross-functional alignment on risks & issues with service order parts status, take clear ownership, and take actions that efficiently drive resolution.
  • Service Team Leader: As a member of the Service Team, provide a voice for development and strategy for growth of the Service Team through your functions.



Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED is required, bachelor's degree in supply chain management or another related field is preferred



Qualifications

  • 2+ Years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in identifying, ordering, and maintaining parts inventory in a service center or related structure, as well as the ability to track, manage, and communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Accomplishment in coaching and leading individuals in continuous improvement resulting in process improvements, quality assurance, and attainment of business objectives.
  • Demonstrated fire industry and emergency services understanding highly recommended.
  • Previous technical or management experience and/or certification are beneficial.
  • Business acumen that translates to proactive and robust direction and decision making within a service center environment.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft suite, parts/equipment software such as Fullbay, and experience using vendor parts systems. Ability to learn new systems for identification of parts, quoting, placing orders, and reporting. Experience using Excel to generate and analyze reports for multiple classes of parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, vendor catalogues, service and part bulletins, and upgrade procedures. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  •  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Compensation: The hourly base pay for this role is $23-26/hour based on experience
