Experienced Security Officer – Banking Institution – Hempstead, NY
Pay Rate: $29.50/Hr.
Schedule: Full-Time | Friday: 8:00AM to 7:00PM | Saturday: 8:00AM to 3:00PM | Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 8:00AM to 6:00PM
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly professional and experienced Security Officer to support operations at a banking institution in Hempstead, NY. This role is ideal for individuals with prior law enforcement experience who are looking to continue their careers in a security-focused environment. The selected candidate will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere for clients, employees, and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a strong visible security presence within the banking facility
- Monitor premises through patrols and surveillance systems
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms
- Enforce site-specific policies and procedures
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports
- De-escalate conflicts using professionalism and sound judgment
- Collaborate with local law enforcement when necessary
Qualifications:
- Prior law enforcement experience required (police, corrections, or similar)
- Valid NYS Security Guard License (or ability to obtain)
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- High level of integrity, accountability, and situational awareness
- Customer service-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Military experience (honorable discharge)
- Prior experience in banking or corporate security environments
- CPR/AED certification preferred
