Position Summary
The Expeditor is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and expediting materials, equipment, and services required to support drilling, production, maintenance, and construction activities at Prudhoe Bay. This role ensures that critical materials arrive on time, in the correct condition, and in compliance with Alaska North Slope (ANS) logistics, safety, and environmental requirements, while operating under extreme Arctic conditions and tight logistical constraints.
Key Responsibilities
Materials & Logistics Coordination
- Track and expedite the movement of materials, tools, and equipment to and from Prudhoe Bay
- Coordinate shipments via air, ice roads, permanent roads, and marine/seasonal routes
- Monitor delivery schedules and resolve delays to minimize operational downtime
- Coordinate with warehouses, freight forwarders, rig sites, and field operations
- Verify materials are staged, delivered, and received per operational priorities
Documentation & Inventory Control
- Prepare, review, and process:
- Shipping documents
- Bills of lading
- Material transfer records
- Receiving and staging logs
- Maintain accurate inventory records and material status reports
- Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and tracking of critical or time‑sensitive items
- Support audits of inventory and material usage
Vendor & Contractor Interface
- Communicate with suppliers, service companies, and transportation providers
- Follow up on purchase orders, delivery commitments, and shipping discrepancies
- Assist materials management with vendor performance tracking
- Coordinate urgent or emergency requests supporting drilling and production operations
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
- Ensure all material movements comply with:
- Operator HSE policies
- Alaska North Slope environmental requirements
- Tundra and ice road travel rules
- Verify proper handling of hazardous materials and regulated substances
- Report and document cargo damage, spills, or incidents
- Participate in safety meetings and Arctic logistics briefings
Arctic & Prudhoe Bay‑Specific Duties
- Operate within winter logistics constraints, including ice roads and seasonal access
- Understand load restrictions, convoy rules, and weather‑related delays
- Adapt to limited daylight, extreme cold, and remote operating conditions
- Support winter drilling and maintenance programs with time‑critical deliveries
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical, logistics, or supply chain coursework preferred
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in:
- Oil and gas logistics
- Materials coordination
- Warehouse, shipping, or supply chain operations
- Alaska North Slope or Arctic experience strongly preferred
Certifications (Required or Preferred)
- Arctic or Cold Weather Safety Training (or ability to obtain)
- H2S Awareness (preferred)
- First Aid / CPR (preferred)
- Forklift or materials handling certification (preferred)
