The Work:

Reporting to the Director of Sikorsky Communications, this role serves as a strategic communications leader supporting a dynamic, high-visibility portfolio within Lockheed Martin. The position provides counsel and leads the development and execution of integrated communications strategies for the Sikorsky line of business, aligning messaging to enterprise priorities, program performance, and key business objectives. The successful candidate will operate as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring communications are clear, consistent, and directly connected to strategic goals.

A core responsibility of this role is executive and employee communications, supporting the Sikorsky Vice President and General Manager through high-impact, multi-channel content including employee webcasts, memos, video messages, social media, and internal and external speaking engagements. This individual will be a strong storyteller, creating compelling, creative content that engages, educates, and inspires the workforce while reinforcing the company’s strategy, priorities, and cultural imperatives. The role also leads the development and measurement of a comprehensive annual employee communications program designed to strengthen alignment, drive engagement, and foster connection across a global, matrixed organization.

The position requires the ability to manage multiple senior leaders and competing priorities, delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will lead and mentor a communications team, setting clear direction, elevating performance, and fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strong project management and operational discipline, ensuring communications initiatives are executed effectively and deliver measurable value aligned to business outcomes.

This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders across operations, HR, legal, and program leadership, as well as enterprise communications teams, to ensure alignment and consistency. It also provides strategic guidance to leadership at major Sikorsky sites, supporting local engagement while maintaining enterprise cohesion. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong judgment and leadership presence, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization. A proven ability to navigate complex, high-visibility environments, manage issues, and maintain strong relationships with media, employees, stakeholders, and customers is essential.

Basic Qualifications:
7-10 years of strategic communications experience in a complex, matrixed organization, leading integrated executive, employee, and program communications.
Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical or operational topics into clear, compelling messaging.
Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives and partner cross-functionally across multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated media relations and issues management experience, with sound judgment in high-visibility, sensitive environments.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across a global organization.
Demonstrated experience coaching, building and optimizing a team.
Desired Skills:
Strategist with strong instincts and expertise influencing leadership thinking in strategic communication and issues management.
Executive presence and Full Spectrum Leadership characteristics.
Motivated self-starter who performs without appreciable direction and works effectively under competing priorities and tight deadlines.

Communications experience in one or more of the following industries: Aerospace, Defense, Technology, Manufacturing.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
