Wage Range: $172,474 - $275,954 per yearPosted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum.   • Hospice Home Care, serving more than 500 patients daily
  • A 15‑bed inpatient Hospice Care Center, providing short‑term, higher‑acuity symptom management
  • A multidisciplinary team of experienced managers, five board‑certified hospice physicians, over 200 clinicians and support staff, and 200+ dedicated volunteers
The OpportunityIn addition to overseeing one of the nation’s largest and most respected hospice programs, the Executive Director of Hospice will lead continuous improvement efforts to advance the quality-of-care patients and families receive before, during, and after death.The Executive Director is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team for EvergreenHealth’s Home Care Division, directly influencing organizational strategy, strengthening an already strong culture, and guiding long‑term growth. EvergreenHealth leadership and staff are actively engaged in patient advocacy and clinical innovation at the local, state, and national levels, including participation in organizations such as the Alliance, WSHPCO, and HCAW. Publicly reported patient satisfaction outcomes reflect EvergreenHealth Hospice’s national leadership in the field.Job SummaryThe Executive Director of Hospice is accountable for all hospice clinical services, including Hospice Home Care and the Hospice Care Center. This role is responsible for planning, developing, integrating, and directing clinical programs,staff, and budgets in support of EvergreenHealth’s mission and strategic objectives while ensuring the highest level of quality and regulatory compliance.Primary Duties:
  • Provide executive leadership for the Hospice service line, including nursing, social work, spiritual care, bereavement, volunteer services, quality improvement, and compliance
  • Ensure delivery of high‑quality patient care in compliance with federal, state, and Joint Commission regulations
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care services
  • Develop and implement new programs to meet community needs and improve clinical outcomes
  • Oversee workflow design, operational efficiency, and office practices
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate clinical documentation
  • Lead performance improvement and quality initiatives
  • Support education and professional development for staff
  • Collaborate across nursing and clinical leadership structures within EvergreenHealth
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • MSN or master’s degree in a related field, or demonstrated plan to obtain the degree
  • Current license in a healthcare discipline to practice in Washington State
  • Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible healthcare administration experience
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in Hospice and/or Home Health
  • Current knowledge of federal, state, and Joint Commission regulations
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality improvement and healthcare leadership
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills with a commitment to cost‑effective care
  • Current BLS certification (by date of hire)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
