The Execution Completions Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and executing well completion operations. This role ensures that wells are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with reservoir and production objectives.
The position supports both onshore and offshore operations and may include exposure to subsea systems and advanced completion technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering and Planning
• Develop detailed well completion designs and execution plans
• Ensure alignment with geological and reservoir objectives
• Optimize designs for cost efficiency and operational performance
• Support drilling and completion programs with technical input
Execution and Operations
• Oversee execution of completions and workover operations
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
• Coordinate with field operations during execution phases
• Monitor performance and adjust plans as needed
Technical Support and Optimization
• Review and support drilling and completion designs
• Identify opportunities to improve completion efficiency and reduce cost
• Evaluate and implement new completion technologies, including subsea systems
Cost and Performance Management
• Prepare cost estimates and financial forecasts for completion activities
• Track expenditures and support project financial accruals
• Conduct post-job evaluations and performance analysis
Stakeholder Coordination
• Act as liaison with joint venture partners
• Collaborate with drilling, HSE, and operations teams
• Present technical findings and recommendations to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical preferred)
• Minimum experience requirements
• Level I: early career with relevant internships or field exposure
• Level II: several years of completions or frac engineering experience
• Knowledge of well completions design, equipment, and operations
• Experience with hydraulic fracturing or workover operations preferred
• Familiarity with subsea systems is a plus
Technical Skills
• Understanding of completions systems and well integrity principles
• Ability to perform cost analysis and engineering evaluations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Data analysis and reporting capability
• Exposure to Artificial Intelligence applications is a plus
