Joining The Guthrie Clinic as the system Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is an excellent opportunity for a strategic and results-oriented financial executive to join a growing, exceptional system of care. Key ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the senior leadership team reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, The Guthrie Clinic Chief Financial Officer is responsible for effective participation and oversight in the strategic and financial planning and general direction of the $2B Guthrie system. The CFO is also responsible for the overall leadership and direction for the financial strategy and financial operations of The Guthrie Clinic including:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the financial strategy of The Guthrie Clinic and all subsidiary and affiliated companies ensuring that adequate capital resources are available to meet current and future needs of the system.
- Responsible for reporting the financial performance of The Guthrie Clinic to the Guthrie Clinic Board, Physician Management Council, The Guthrie Clinic Finance Committee, The Guthrie Clinic Audit Committee and Guthrie’s management team.
- Responsible for the preparation and oversight of the annual capital and operating budgets of The Guthrie Clinic and entities as well as periodic mid‐year forecasts and projections.
- Responsible for the development and execution of multi‐year financial plans in conjunction with Strategic plan updates
- Responsible for all treasury functions including the overall investment program, cash management and debt issuance/debt compliance matters including quarterly reporting to the Investment sub‐committee of The Guthrie Clinic
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining a sound system of internal controls to protect the assets of The Guthrie Clinic and assure fair and accurate financial reporting
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with lending institutions, investment bankers, investment consultants, investment managers, rating agencies, insurance brokers and carriers, industry advocacy groups, health insurance payers and external auditors.
- Provides administrative oversight and coordination for The Guthrie Clinic risk financing activities including insurance coverage and contracting for all coverage types such as D&O, professional liability, general liability, property, worker compensation.
- Responsible for the oversight of all third party payer contracting. Provide oversight for all revenue cycle activities and functions for the operating entities
- Responsible for periodic and annual regulatory reporting of financial matters related to cost reports, tax returns etc.
- Seeks opportunities to incorporate more automation and standardization into work processes. Promotes a technology-driven organization.
- Direct reports include the SVP Finance, SVP Supply Chain, VP Revenue Cycle, VP Managed Care, AVP Treasurer and the Sr. Director Insurance.
- Lead and mentor direct team and foster a culture of development and succession within the organization.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have the following professional qualifications and personal characteristics:
- A minimum of 10 years demonstrated progressive leadership and/or management experience in senior healthcare related finance position.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting or Finance required. MBA degree and/or CPA required.
- Managed care negotiation and contracting experience with the ability to develop financial models in support of various types of contracts. Experience maintaining a thorough working knowledge of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement payment methodologies.
- Experience in evaluating new business opportunities including acquisition and development.
- A forward-thinking executive with the ability to strategically guide the organization in financial matters, help the organization meet new challenges and capitalize on new opportunities, including innovative partnerships and new lines of business.
- Strategic thinker, thought leader, and brand ambassador who is articulate and has an engaging personality.

- Possess technical and professional accounting skills, ability to develop financial and other operational systems to accurately control the organization’s activities.

- Experience leading finance, accounting, budgeting, managed care contracting, revenue cycle, internal audit, accounts payable, treasury, and revenue integrity.
