As we continue to expand our reach and impact, we’re seeking an Events and Marketing Coordinator to help bring our mission to life through compelling storytelling, strong community partnerships, and exceptional event experiences.
Summary
The Events and Marketing Coordinator will play an integral role on our development team. You will be responsible for planning and executing Little Hands Virginia’s high-impact fundraising events and leading day-to-day marketing and communications efforts. This role blends logistics, creativity, and project management, ensuring events run smoothly while building awareness and engagement.
The Events and Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director, Director of Development, Assistant Director of Development, the Board of Directors, Richmond Advisory Board, and planning committees to support fundraising goals and strengthen our brand presence in the community.
Responsibilities
Event Coordination & Support
- Lead planning and execution of two signature fundraising events: Big Turkey Trot (November) and Virginia Tablescapes (Spring).
- Assist with event logistics including timelines, vendor coordination, volunteer support, and on-site execution.
- Support sponsorship fulfillment, guest communications, and attendee experience.
- Help design and manage event materials such as invitations, signage, programs, and auction/raffle collateral.
- Track event tasks, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Assist with post-event follow-up, acknowledgments, and reporting.
Marketing & Communications
- Manage social media content calendar and posting across platforms.
- Assist with creation of marketing materials including email campaigns, monthly newsletter, digital graphics, flyers, and print pieces.
- Support website updates related to events, campaigns, and storytelling.
- Collect photos, testimonials, and impact stories.
- Maintain consistent branding.
Community Engagement
- Lead the planning and execution of the Big Diaper Drive (October) in collaboration with the development and program teams.
- Help coordinate other community outreach events such as family volunteer days.
- Act as lead point of contact for third-party fundraising events.
- Represent Little Hands Virginia at select community events.
Administrative & Development Support
- Assist with CRM data entry, registrations, invoicing, and donor acknowledgments.
- Support donor stewardship.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2–4 years in events, marketing, communications, or nonprofit development preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, Microsoft Office proficiency, CRM familiarity, strong organization.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, creative, flexible, collaborative.

Job Type: Full Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday with evenings and weekends as needed.
