We are seeking a skilled Estimator to support the preparation of accurate and competitive project estimates across one or more mechanical disciplines, including plumbing, piping, and/or sheet metal. This role is responsible for reviewing construction documents, performing detailed takeoffs, and developing cost proposals for medium to large plan/spec, design‑assist, and design‑build projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and related documentation to define scope of work
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Develop complete and accurate project cost estimates from concept through final proposal
  • Evaluate design alternatives and provide cost‑driven recommendations when appropriate
  • Prepare formal proposals and supporting documentation for prospective and existing clients
  • Analyze estimates throughout the project lifecycle, comparing projected vs. actual costs
  • Request, review, and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Determine cost‑effective approaches while maintaining engineering and quality standards
  • Assist with cost tracking, reporting, and documentation throughout active projects
  • Maintain organized estimating files and backup documentation
  • Generate reports related to estimating activity, bids, and cost performance
  • Support audit and review requests by maintaining clear estimating records
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and sales teams during preconstruction
  • Provide estimating support across additional disciplines as needed
  • Contribute to a collaborative, safety‑focused team culture
  • Assist with mentoring or training junior team members when applicable


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical estimating, engineering, or the mechanical trades
  • Solid knowledge of plumbing, piping, and/or sheet metal systems
  • Hands‑on experience with mechanical estimating software and Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret cost data and technical systems
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred

Pay: $70,000 - $102,000k/year
