Senior Estimator – Milling & Paving

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $100,000 – $125,000

About the Role

A well-established construction materials and infrastructure services organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead and oversee the estimating function across a range of large-scale road construction and paving projects.

This organisation operates across multiple sites, delivering high-quality materials and services to public and private sector clients, with a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and mentor a team of estimators to deliver accurate and competitive bids
Review project plans and specifications to define scope and prepare estimates
Produce detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and supporting documentation
Conduct market analysis and review historical project data to inform pricing
Assign estimating responsibilities across multiple projects
Identify project risks and assess potential cost impacts
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure accuracy
Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids for competitiveness and compliance
Ensure familiarity and compliance with relevant Department of Transportation specifications

Requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in asphalt paving or heavy highway construction estimating
Proven track record estimating projects valued between $5M and $25M
Strong proficiency in estimating software (e.g., B2W) and Microsoft Office tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Legal authorisation to work in the United States
