Estate Administration Paralegal (Full-Time)

We are seeking a highly experienced Estate Administration Paralegal to join our client's sophisticated practice. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in trust and estates who is looking to play a key role in supporting attorneys and delivering exceptional client service.


Position Overview

The Estate Administration Paralegal will support attorneys in all aspects of estate and trust administration, from initial client intake through final distribution. The ideal candidate will bring at least 6+ years of hands-on experience in estate administration and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple matters independently in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of estate and trust administration
  • Prepare and file New Jersey inheritance tax returns and federal estate and gift tax returns
  • Draft estate and trust accountings
  • Coordinate probate filings and maintain communication with Surrogate’s Court
  • Gather, organize, and analyze financial records and asset information
  • Assist with estate funding, asset transfers, and beneficiary distributions
  • Communicate directly with clients, financial institutions, and advisors
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of all filings and administration tasks
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation
  • Support attorneys with correspondence, document preparation, and client updates


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of estate administration experience required
  • Strong knowledge of trust and estates law and procedures
  • Experience preparing NJ inheritance tax returns and federal estate/gift tax returns
  • Experience drafting estate and trust accountings
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • High level of professionalism and client service orientation
