Operate complex and specialized heavy construction equipment and provides on-site first line supervision on more complex roadway projects. May be assigned resources to manage and complete smaller projects given only general direction by the project supervisor.

1. Acts as direct supervision of specialized road crew.
2. Operates specialized heavy equipment.
3. Works with citizens, vendors and city inspectors.
4. Trains fellow employees in the operation of heavy equipment.
5. Ensures safety of worksite for operators and the traveling public.
6. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent ANDfour (4) full-time years of related experience ~OR~
  • Eight (8) full-time years of related experience may substitute for a high school diploma/GED.
  • A Class A CDL is required upon hire, and a tanker endorsement is required within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • Must have the ability to lead a construction crew, thorough knowledge of road construction and
    specialized operations.
  • Must have the ability to organize, plan, and make decisions.
